Laurie J. Wasserman
Hailing from Washington D.C., Laurie Wasserman is an employment law attorney with more than twenty-five years of experience. Ms. Wasserman has served as lead counsel in cases for discrimination based on sexual harassment, age, religion, race, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, and pregnancy, and has provided quality representation to clients in all phases of employment discrimination cases. In addition, she has litigated cases for breach of an employment contract and breach of non-compete agreements, theft of trade secrets, retaliation and whistleblowing. She has represented clients on wage and hour issues. For many years she served as the liaison between the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Department of Human Rights and the Illinois Human Rights Commission.
Ms. Wasserman works with businesses on discrimination issues to ensure their compliance with the maze of federal, state and local employment laws. As part of that service, she drafts employee handbooks, employment contracts and policies, and provides training to employees and companies in various employment-related areas such as sexual harassment. Ms. Wasserman is a frequent lecturer to legal and lay groups on employee relations, sexual harassment, employee discrimination and other employment-related topics.
Ms. Wasserman also provides clients with estate planning services.
Ms. Wasserman was given the highest possible rating (AV) for her legal ability and
